Well, I promised a lot of time talking about ...
Dennis Lehane is the last I read. Not the slightest
I even read it twice before we know what to say - a bit like that: it's a great thriller, full of brilliant dialogue *, reversals to make you cold back ... the kind of thriller that makes me love thrillers what ...
Well, I finally found. It was hard, it was in the title!
What is sacred? Birth family? Beauty? Religion? Love?
What's more sacred than a daughter to her father? What more sacred than the last days of a sick man? What's more sacred than the beautiful, naked, without makeup or artifice? What's more sacred than the truth? What's more sacred than hope?
you think ... ?
Do not answer too quickly because as stated Angie Gennaro, love-d'enfance-of-its-hero alter-ego: "Up is down. IS North South ".**
The plot is fairly simple: Patrick Kenzie and Angie Gennaro detective honest and conscientious (and hilarious in their trade, and platonic love for you in three volumes could for them) are employed (some against their will) to find the daughter of a magna finance. The girl is beautiful, the Magna has cancer, the pay is good, what detectives refuse?
* funky sample dialogues:
... But you're honest to earn your trust Those Who. And I intend "to.
- Kidnapping us wasn't Probably The Best way about it.
(But you're honest with those you trust. And I hope to win.
Us kidnap was perhaps not the best way to do it.)
I do realize that outside this context is not as funny but I almost cry thinking about Patrick trying to be recruited by a cult and to prove the futility of the world shouting "And Björk? Explain Bjrök! "
Well it makes me think that I have not put in my playlist day long ....
I'll try to do that in the week
Take care.
